The Blade, Smiths' 60th Sylvester "Sonny" and Nan (Hershey) Smith celebrated their 60th anniversary. They were married on August 21, 1954, in Apostles Lutheran Church in Toledo, Ohio. A family dinner is planned to celebrate. Sonny is a retired football coach and teacher from Woodward High School and The University of Toledo, starting his career in 1954 and retiring in 1989. He has a bachelor degree from The University of Toledo and also did graduate work at Kent State and University of Michigan. Nan graduated from The University of Toledo and is a retired RN from Toledo Hospital. They are the proud parents of Sheryl Shipman, Janet (Fred) Szlachek from Richmond, VA, Jill Magginis (Bill), Jeffrey (Penny), and David (Amy). They have been blessed with nine grandchildren, Nathan, Kassie (Brent), Corey, Kyle, Chelsea, Brad, Nancy, Billy and Macy and a great-grandchild, Alexia. Congratulations Mom and Dad! Nana and Papa Sonny. We love you!
