The Blade, Baldwins' 50th! Don and Linda (Littrell) Baldwin proudly celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 5, 2014, along with their children and grandchildren, Chris (Baldwin) and David Balcirak and their daughter, Mackensie, and Angie (Baldwin) and Scott O'Brien and their children, Nicholas and Madison. The couple met while attending Whitmer High School. In honor of this very special occasion, a private dinner party was held at the couple's home in Maumee, Ohio. The family would like to thank their parents for being such amazing role models, for their constant love and support and for creating such a blessed family. To express their appreciation, love, and respect, the children have arranged for their parents to vacation in Traverse City, Michigan, which is where they originally set out to honeymoon 50 years ago.

The Blade, Joneses' 65th! Lester F. Jones and Dorothy M. Davis were married on July 2, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, OH. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with their family at a dinner party. In attendance was son, Jeff (Paula) Jones of Maumee and daughter, Cindy (Zig) Wierzbicki of Monclova. They have 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren: Josh (Deidre) Jones of Perrysburg and their children, Noah and Madeline; John (Polly) Wierzbicki of Adrian, MI and their children, Dom Carson, Leyna and Zofie; Olivia (Larry) Twigg of Maumee and their child, Hunter; Lisa (John) Heslop of Bryan, OH. Lester retired from Champion Spark Plug in Toledo, OH where he worked in research and development. Dorothy enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. In their retirement years they have done much traveling and spent many winters in Venice, FL. They have resided in Maumee the past 65 years.

Her Bridesmaids were Katie Spitulski (Sister-in-Law) and Megan Brunner. Kendal's Best Man was Ron Lauman. His Groomsmen were Jeremy Spitulski (Brother of the Bride) and David Blakeman. Their Flower Girl was Cordelia Lauman (Goddaughter of the Groom). They Honeymooned in Hawaii. The Blade, Hahnlens' 70th Bill and Janet (Stanton) Hahnlen Sr., celebrated their 70th anniversary. The couple were married at Broadway Methodist Church on Friday, October 13th, (pretty lucky!) 1944. Bill was the first WWII veteran to get on-the-job training at The Toledo Blade. He worked at The Blade Newspaper in the Advertising Dept. for 45 years. They are the parents of 5 children, Judith Kay Moore, Deborah Mae Wingert, William D. Jr. (Kyle), Scott D. (Laurie), and Brian D. (Debbie); grandparents of 12, Shelly Yohnke, Michael Neiman, Blair and Amy Wingert, Ryan, Brittany, and Brandon Hahnlen, Lindsey and Samantha Hahnlen, Brayden Hahnlen, Dakota and Levi; great-grandparents of 14 and great-great-grandparents of 4.

Mr. and Mrs. William Wagoner of Sylvania, Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Glavan Sr. of Las Vegas, Nevada would like to announce the wedding of Rebecca Rae Wagoner to Brett William Glavan on Friday, August 1, 2014. The ceremony was held at St. Joseph's Parish in Sylvania, Ohio by Father Charles Ritter. The wedding party consisted of Brenna Murtagh as Matron of Honor and Robert Glavan Jr., brother of the groom as the Best Man. Also Elizabeth Poll and Sarah Renstchler served as Maids of Honor, along with five additional bridesmaids and seven groomsmen serving as the wedding party. After the ceremony a grand reception was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg, Ohio. Rebecca is a 2011 graduate of the University of Toledo with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and is a second grade teacher at Cahlan Elementary School in Las Vegas. Brett is 2011 graduate of the University of Toledo with a bachelor's degree and master's degree in middle childhood education and educational administration and supervision. Brett is a science teacher at Reedom Elementary School in Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Brett Glavan are residing in Las Vegas and are planning a honeymoon in Jamaica in the spring of 2015. This celebration was a three day event at the bride's parent's house where numerous gatherings were held with exceptional food service and entertainment.

They are the parents of Sandra (Richard) Widders and Sharon (Richard) Reucher. They have four grandchildren, Lisa (Brian) Craig, Matthew (Kelly Ann) Widders, Ricky (Allie) Reucher and Kelly (James) Brennan. They also have four great-grandchildren. The bride is a 2006 Graduate of Bay Village High School. She attended Ohio University and Hocking College where she obtained her degree in Nursing. She is currently a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intense Care Unit of Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. She is the daughter of Deborah and William Safford of Bay Village, Ohio. The groom is a 2001 graduate of Sylvania Northview. He continued his education at Ohio University, graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2006. The groom is a Mechanical Engineer and managing partner at OBR Cooling Towers. He is the son of Beth and Peter Poll of Toledo, Ohio. The couple met through the Groom's sister, Elizabeth Poll, who is also the bride's best friend. They currently reside in the historic neighborhood of German Village in Columbus with their Goldendoodle Welly.

The Blade, Blakes' 50th On December 22, 1963, a boy from Toledo, OH and a polish girl from Cicero, IL, went on their 1st date at the infamous Blackhawk Restaurant located in the Chicago Loop area. Who knew that in less than eleven (11) months, Donald Blake and Marie Christo would travel to the Cook County Courthouse and get married on November 7, 1964. Surely not their parents, as Frank & Mary Christo, as well as Harvie & Flora Blake did not find out until after they said, "I Do." Congratulations on fifty (50) years of wedded bliss, as you've made it look easy but we are sure that you've both made sacrifices for us, as well as each other.
