The Blade, MACIAS’ 60th! On August 18, 1956, Frederick Macias and Lucy Ceniceros were married at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Toledo, Ohio. They reside in Fostoria, Ohio and are members of St. Wendelin Parish. They are the proud parents of seven children: Susan, Veronica (Jim Burkhardt), Nancy, Jacquelyn (Doug Tiell), Mark (deceased April 2012), Laura (Warren Digby), and Trish. They have 10 grandchildren, Aaron (and Natalie), Jake, Katie (and Chance), Kyle, Phillip (Tiffanie), Kristen (and Tyler), Pooky (Derek), Lexie, Josh, and Sammie, and 5 great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Jory, Jacqui, Clayton, Hayden, with one coming in 2017! Their life together began at a dance...60 years later, they’re still active: attending games, events, and all things family-related. Fred retired from the Lima Tank Plant. He swims at the YMCA daily. Lucy, after her children were grown, worked at Big Wheel and The Pharm, where she made many lifelong friends. The couple have thrived and survived, experiencing both joy and the deepest sorrow. Through it all, their love has endured, standing as role models for their family. A reception was held at St. Wendelin’s Parish Hall on Sunday, August 21st, with family, including Fred and Lucy’s siblings, and a few close friends. Their faith in God inspires us to be better.
