The Blade, Happy 70th Anniversary Paul and Minnie Ramirez Minnie and Paul Ramirez will celebrate 70 years of marriage on Wednesday, July 13. The wedding took place in Houston, Texas in 1946. Mr. Ramirez retired from Hardy and Dischinger and Mrs. Ramirez retired from St. Vincent Hospital. They have lived in Swanton since October 23, 1948 and have been active members of St. Richard’s Church. They have 8 children, Sue Fair of Sarasota, Florida, Gloria Ramirez of Laredo, Texas, Paul (Cindy) Ramirez Jr. of Lambertville, Michigan, Jane (Mel) Overholser of Oregon, Ohio, Janette Manuel of Applegate, California, Deb (Frank) Pokornik of Perrysburg, Ohio, Mike Ramirez of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania and Jim (Monica) Ramirez of Ruxton, Maryland. They have 9 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. Since retiring they spend much of their time traveling and watching their grandchildren playing soccer and lacrosse. The family will be celebrating with mass at St. Richard Church in Swanton on Sunday, July 3, followed by brunch. As published in The Blade.
