The Blade, Pattersons' 50th Ray and Sharon (Hoffman) Patterson were married on February 27, 1965 at St. Rose Church in Perrysburg by Monsignor Max J. Waltz. Sharon obtained her Nursing diploma from Mercy School of Nursing. She worked 32 years at Mercy Hospital, two years at St. Vincent Hospital, and six years in an OB-GYN office. Ray worked 17 years for Owens-Illinois. In 1985 he chose a voluntary retirement package and started Patterson's Tax Service. He sold his business in 2007; but still works there during tax season. They have five children, Robin (Tim) Lindley, Renee (Steve) Long, Raelyn (Mike) Calendine, Steve (Stephanie), and Scott (Michelle). They have 16 wonderful grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. They will celebrate with a brunch at Nazareth Hall in March with their family.
