The Blade, Nowakowskis' 65th! Henry "Hank" Nowakowski and Norma "Jean" Fleitz were married at the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish church on a sunny and warm Saturday, February 19th, 1949. They say they rode in a convertible that day, with the top down! Avid golfers both, despite 9 children they traveled the world with their family, friends and golf clubs. At the same time, they built a business "Hank's Plumbing & Heating, Co. "HPH" as it is known these days. They played golf together for many years at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio and Fiddlesticks in Ft. Myers, FL. Their nine children Marilyn (Bruce) Fredrickson of Boulder, Colorado; James (Marsha) Nowakowski of Duluth, Georgia; John (Cyndy) Nowakowski of Sylvania, Ohio; Catherine Scannell (Toledo); Henry "Chip" (Pat) Nowakowski of Ottawa Lake, Michigan; Jeffery Nowakowski of Oregon, Ohio; Mark Nowakowski (Toledo); Carolyn Nowakowski (Toledo) and Janet Flury (John Bali) of Minooka, Illinois have 22 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The immediate family will gather together for a home cooked meal Saturday night at Mom and Dad's and attend mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sylvania, Ohio on Sunday morning. After a special blessing of their 65 year marriage, they'll share a family brunch. Congratulations Mom & Dad; Grandmother and Grandfather!
